ABOUT ME
I have always loved meeting people and as a teacher for thirty plus years, relished the opportunity to establish strong relationships with my colleagues, pupils and their families. It was a great privilege to walk with young people on their journeys to adulthood.

Teaching Religious Studies, Philosophy and Personal & Social Education, I enjoyed exploring some of life’s biggest & most important questions with secondary school students. For more detail on my personal perspective on Religion & Spirituality please see my Ethos.
“Caring and loyal, articulate and thoughtful, fun and enthusiastic.”
- Helen Webb, M.B.E.
My Background
My final teaching role was as a Deputy Head, during which I led a team of staff, organised numerous events, requiring excellent organisation, planning and presentation skills, and navigated a wide spectrum of challenges which have necessitated flexibility and tact as well as strength of character and vision.
All of this experience stands me in good stead for my role as a celebrant; I know the importance of paying attention to even the smallest of details, of truly working with clients and the importance of nurture for personal growth.
The decision to become a celebrant was born out of my desire to support people through life’s significant events whether this is celebrating the union of two families at a wedding or crafting the perfect farewell to a much loved family member. My teaching career was dominated by pastoral work and I am delighted that celebrancy provides me with the opportunity to continue to work with passion, empathy and integrity to make a difference in the lives of others - without the marking!

I am enormously proud to be a celebrant and take my role seriously. This does not mean all my ceremonies are serious, although some certainly need to be, but rather that each one is created uniquely by me, for you. In order to do your occasion justice I limit the number of ceremonies I perform, take the time required to perfect every aspect of your ceremony, and communicate openly and regularly with you throughout to ensure your occasion is just how you want it.
“Catrina, your work is excellent... you’ve been an absolute joy to work with."
- Veronika Robinson, Heart-led Celebrant training
Personal
I live in Leicestershire with my husband, Steve, but have in the past called Germany, France, Kent and Birmingham home. I enjoy travelling, be that independently in India and Bolivia during my youth or Europe and the UK, in the family campervan - although now our sons are adults, it is increasingly just the two of us.
My top priorities in life are Family, Friends and Community and I see my role as a celebrant as connected to all three; I serve my community as a celebrant writing and officiating at weddings, unions, naming ceremonies, funerals, house warmings and more. I establish a strong relationship with each of my clients and, of course, I play a critical role in your family’s ceremony.

If you choose me as your celebrant I promise to work with you to create a unique ceremony that reflects what you want and embraces the values you hold dear.
If you would like to explore the possibility of me working with you further, please get in touch.
