WEDDINGS & UNIONS

Civil partnership

The desire to celebrate our love for another human being is as old as humanity itself and the first recorded evidence of marriage ceremonies date from about 2350 BCE.  For centuries there have been strict rules around which relationships can be validated by marriage and how that validation can occur.

Thankfully we now live in more liberal times and today the decision about what kind of ceremony you want to acknowledge and how you want to celebrate your love is down to you!

A celebrant-led union allows you to craft exactly the right occasion whether that is a formal ceremony in front of  a large crowd or a private elopement.  You can include whatever rituals are meaningful to you from vows and ring-giving to handfasting and jumping the broom.  If you are looking to create a wedding, vow renewal or any kind of union, I have a passion for creating unique, meaningful ceremonies and would be delighted to work with you.

If after our initial chat you decide I am the celebrant for you, I look forward to:

Getting to know you -

  • Meeting you both in your home or a mutually convenient location - we can expect this meeting to last 2-3 hours and is my chance to get to really know you both, discover the most important factors in your relationship - what makes you tick as a couple.  We will explore your ideas, consider any rituals, music or readings you might like to include - don’t worry if you’re not sure, I have lots of ideas!

  • Offering ongoing support through the lead up to the big day - I am never further than an email or WhatsApp away.

  • Meeting again - perhaps at the wedding venue to discuss the draft ceremony, make any adjustments and to ensure you have included everything and everyone to make your ceremony perfect.

   Crafting your perfect ceremony -

  • Drafting a unique ceremony for you under your direction. This ceremony includes any (within reason!) rituals, readings and music you may want and will be crafted to be whatever length you choose.

  • Helping you with vow writing; I can write these for you, support you to write your own or leave this aspect of the ceremony to you entirely.

  • Finalising your ceremony - from approx 2 months before the day. Delivery of the completed ceremony will only take place when the balance of the fee due has been paid; this is expected no later than one month before the ceremony.

Delivering the perfect occasion -

  • Rehearsing your ceremony with you (optional) - please do indicate your intention for a rehearsal at the time of booking to ensure my diary is free.

  • Arrival at the venue 1hr before your ceremony - you will be the only commitment I have on the day.

  • Conducting your ceremony with love, professionalism and joy

The above process works well for most couples but if your needs or wishes are different, please get in touch; I am always open to suggestions and aim to be as flexible as possible.
