You could arrive at the ceremony by boat!

Situated in Kibworth, Leicestershire beside lock 20 on the Grand Union Canal, Bridge House Barn offers a magical wedding venue for any couple seeking a countryside wedding.  On top of the spectacular setting, what makes this venue particularly special is that they cater for a range of different styles; whether you’re after relaxed festival vibes or more formal sit down dining, Bridge House Barn can deliver and everything in between too. Bridge House Barn has been hosting weddings for 12 years; Emma and Neil, the friendly, helpful team behind this venture have everything a bridal party and their guests could possibly need, covered

Facilities include four quality tipis which can be styled however you wish.  The generous booking times, which, at the weekend run from Friday lunchtime to Sunday lunchtime, means you have plenty of time to set the scene however you choose.  The main reception tipi can comfortably accommodate 160 for a sit down meal and there’s plenty of room for additional evening guests. Bar Services are offered in-house with a range of packages available -  a special touch is the complimentary creation of a bespoke cocktail for you and your guests to enjoy on the day.  In terms of catering, there’s maximum flexibility; couples are free to go down whichever menu style suits.  Kitchen facilities are available for external caterers or the option for more mobile foods is popular - pizza vans, hog roasts etc.  Connected to this main tipi is a ‘dance tipi’ with DJ booth and quality dance floor and the ‘snug tipi’ with Chesterfield sofas and indoor firepit providing the perfect spot for a break from the dancing and some toasting of marshmallows.

As well as the tipi venue, there is also The Barn which, with a kitchen and dining area provides an ideal setting for a rehearsal dinner or breakfast on the morning of, or after, your big day.  It can also be used for a more intimate wedding, should you wish.

In addition to reception facilities, Bridge House Barn offers a range of accommodation enabling you, your family and friends to make a whole weekend of the party.  From the Bridal suite that sleeps 6-8 that is perfect for the bridal party the night before and then the wedding couple, to the newly refurbished stables offering two ground floor double bedrooms (one en-suite) and a fully functioning kitchen.  There are also two charming glamping pods and five en-suite double bedrooms available for hire and if this isn’t enough there are bell tents and you’re welcome to bring campervans!

In terms of the ceremony, again all the options are available.  Bridge House Barn is fully licensed for both indoor (inside the tipi) and outdoor (canalside) ceremonies (Registrars need to be booked separately by contacting the team on 0116 3056565) or you can choose to marry in the local church, All Saints, Wigston (conditions apply) or another religious venue. If you prefer to complete the legal part of marriage separately and then have a celebrant-led wedding in front of family and friends, the closest registry offices are in Market Harborough (Leicestershire) or Oakham (Rutland).  (For more information on each of these options see my blog.) For details of what I offer as a wedding celebrant see my website.

Emma and Neil are attentive hosts, offering plenty of advice and contacts before, and a thoroughly hands-on approach on, the big day.  The testimonials speak for themselves; if you’re looking for an exclusive use venue that offers flexible packages for almost every wedding style, you need look no further than Bridge House Barn.
