The Roundhouse Haven

It was a cold day in January that I first visited The Roundhouse Haven, Nr Market Harborough, but boy was the welcome warm!  Nestled deep in the Leicestershire countryside, The Roundhouse is truly a haven of peace and tranquility.  From the moment you turn off the lane and up the driveway you are struck by the beauty of both the larch building and its setting in a clearing within ten acres of woodland.  Everything about this building has been thoughtfully and carefully considered from the easy parking to the multi purpose space that can be variously configured for a number of uses.  The decor is stunning and sustainability is at the heart of the project with a wildflower sedum roof the highlight. The owner, Jane, is passionate about her project and it was truly a delight to spend a couple of hours chatting with her, soaking up the magical atmosphere and learning about her journey.

As it says on the Roundhouse website, our ancestors gathered in buildings like this

(although not as luxurious!) and the sense of ceremonial space is almost tangible.  As

a wedding venue it would be ideal for a small intimate wedding - depending on what kind of occasion you are after anything from a micro wedding (defined as up to 20 guests) to perhaps 60 guests.  Everything you need is here - a sumptuous main meeting space which would be perfect for a ceremony, a small but fully fitted kitchen which can be separated from the main space, a comfortable double bedroom or honeymoon suite! The Roundhouse has a wrap-around porch meaning your ceremony can be inside, on the porch or even in the paddock outside.  There is space for a marquee and even the possibility of camping for guests should you wish everyone to be on site.  Jane has plans for an additional ‘tiny house’ which will accommodate four adults and offers B&B in the main farm house.  There is a disabled access bathroom and an outdoor shower room for the campers.  Jane has a background in catering and her daughter who lives on site, just happens to be a trained chef; catering for your occasion, whatever your dietary requirements, is no problem.

The Roundhouse is the antithesis of a corporate wedding venue; there are no packages to choose from - Jane will work with you on an individual basis to accommodate your specific wishes.  So if you want a pre-wedding dinner the night before, to self cater your event or to access the venue to decorate in your own personal style, it is all possible.

It’s not just weddings - the Roundhouse would make a stunning venue for almost any ceremony from naming to sagesse; if you’re looking for a venue to actively contribute to the sense of occasion, I cannot recommend The Roundhouse more highly. It would be my honour to officiate at any ceremony held here.

Looks like a fantastic venue! -so unlike the “run of the mill” spaces usually considered for celebrations.
